Frédéric Lefèvre, born in 1889 in Izé and died in Paris in 1949, was a French novelist, essayist, and literary critic.
Son of a gelder-bonesetter, Frédéric Lefèvre participated, with Maurice Martin du Gard and Jacques Guenne, in the founding of Les Nouvelles Littéraires in October 1922. He would be the editor-in-chief of this weekly dedicated to literature, from 1922 to 1949. It was in these pages that he published his column "Une Heure avec..." (An Hour with...), a new form of literary criticism (thus taking up the idea of Jules Huret). He inaugurated on November 25, 1922 his famous column "Une heure avec..." by interviewing the novelist Pierre Mille. A refugee during the war in Auvergne, at Vernet-la-Varenne.
