In 1981, he published *Par delà les étoiles* [Beyond the Stars], a sprawling poem of 1,666 alexandrines, illustrated by Yves Brayer and set to music by Henri Sauguet.

This work would be honored with the Académie française's Broquette-Gonin Prize (1982) and the Alfred de Vigny Prize (1983).
