The moralized bible of the national library from Austria codex vindobonensis 2554 reproduced in full facsimile.

Facsimile reproduction of one of the oldest known illuminated Bibles (circa 1215/1230).

Volume 1 contains a study by Reiner Haussherr, the transcription of the handwritten text

by Marthe Dulong, tables and bibliography (all in French and German),

and explains the arrangement of the boards which does not always correspond to their numbering.

Volume 2 brings together all the historiated pages reproduced in their original dimensions,

namely 131 gold and color plates. One of the masterpieces of medieval illumination.
